The Hertie School of Governance in Berlin is currently accepting applications for its
Doctoral Programme in Governance
starting in September 2013. The three year Doctoral Programme in Governance offers rigorous academic training in research design and familiarises students with cutting-edge theories, methods and concepts in the field of governance and public policy. The programme addresses applicants who are interested in exploring modern governance in an interdisciplinary and international context.
Applicants need to have a strong foundation (master's degree or equivalent) in economics, law, political science, sociology, public administration, public management or related fields. Key selection criteria are
- quality and overall thematic fit of the applicant's PhD dissertation proposal with the research agenda of the Hertie School and its Research Clusters,
- the applicant's academic performance and references,
- CV and overall motivation.

The Hertie School of Governance is an international teaching and research centre of excellence that prepares students for leadership positions in government, business, and civil society.
