1.Candidates for Poznań University of Life Sciences PhD Studies (PULS PhD Studies) need to have a diploma confirming the completion of graduate (2°) studies or regular M.Sc. studies granted in Poland or an authorised or apostille stamped diploma or another document confirming their graduation from a university abroad and considered, on the power of regulations on validation of foreign diplomas or on the power of an international agreement, to be equivalent to the respective Polish diploma certifying the completion of graduate (2°) studies or regular M.Sc. studies, authorising their holders to undertake doctoral studies in the Republic of Poland.
In case when the certificates, diplomas or other documents granted abroad are subject to the validation procedure, the candidate is required to present the certificate stating its equivalence with the respective Polish university graduation diploma, not later than the end of the first semester of studies. Failure to present the above mentioned documents will result in the deletion from the list of the doctoral studies effective after the end of the first semester, with the fee for the first semester of studies being non-returnable.
To register the candidates send, before 30 of June 2016, first via e-mail and, after having the acceptance from IRO via post, the following documents:a) an application for admission to doctoral studies;
b) a copy of a university graduation diploma confirming the completion of graduate (2°) studies or regular M.Sc. studies granted in Poland or an authorised or apostille stamped diploma or another document confirming their graduation from a university abroad, which within three months from the beginning of their studies will be considered, on the power of regulations on validation of foreign diplomas or on the power of an international agreement, to be equivalent to the respective Polish diploma certifying the completion of graduate (2°) studies or regular M.Sc. studies, or authorising their holders to undertake doctoral studies in the Republic of Poland. The copy of the diploma needs to be supplemented with a copy of a register of courses taken with respective marks/grades received.
c) a document confirming the command of the English language at the minimum level B2 of the Common European Framework of References fir Languages or another equivalent document. Documents confirming command of the English language include also certificates, diplomas or other documents confirming completion of a secondary school abroad, in which classes were given in English;
d) a copy of their valid passport;
e) a Curriculum Vitae;
f) a characteristic of research activity and a list of scientific achievements;
g) two reference letters, characterising achievements of the candidate and indicating their predispositions for research activity;
h) a preliminary approval by the scientific supervisor from the Poznań University of Life Sciences together with the accepted research subject for the doctoral dissertation and information on funding for the research;
i) a frame project of PhD thesis with the schedule;
j) a medical examination certificate, stating a lack of objections to undertake doctoral studies;
k) 3 biometric passport photographs.
Doctoral studies are full-time studies, they last for 4 years and are fee paying. The tuition for each year of study is paid as two semester tuition fees not later than:
31st of August of each academic year for the winter semester;
- the last day of February of each academic year for the summer semester.
The tuition for the academic year 2015/2016 is 1900 Euro per semester + 200 Euro for the first year of the studies.
The decision on admission to the studies is taken by the Admission Commission by 12 of August 2016.
A pre-condition for the admission to the doctoral studies is to obtain consent by the scientific supervisor to supervise research leading to the preparation of the doctoral dissertation.
The enrollment procedure to full-time doctoral studies is conducted on the basis of presented documents specified in item 3 and the consent of the scientific supervisor, as specified in item 6.
Upon completion of the enrollment procedure the Admission Commission prepares the list of candidates admitted to the doctoral studies programme and not admitted.
Candidates admitted to the doctoral studies programme will be immediately notified of that fact by post.
Candidates who have not been admitted to the doctoral studies programme have a right to appeal from that decision to the Rector within 14 days from the receipt of that decision. The appeal may be based solely on the indication of an infringement of the terms and conditions of the enrollment procedure and manner of admissions to the doctoral studies.
The Rector, upon obtaining an opinion from the Admission Commission, takes a decision on the admission or the rejection of the appeal, with the decision being final. The candidate will be notified in writing on the Rector’s decision.
The Rector can take the decision to conduct additional recruitment. The recruitment procedure should be completed by 30th of September 2016.
- In order to ensure the appropriate course of the enrollment procedure to the doctoral studies programme, candidates are obliged to present all the necessary personal data, which will be processed and stored for the purposes of the enrollment procedure and the doctoral studies, as stipulated by respective regulations.
