Ph.D. in Economics
Management is a requirement in all organisations, small or large, national or multinational, private or public sector, profit making or not for profit. All those with responsibilities for people, resources, activities and information will need some skills in management. This degree provides doctorate level of management studies by research, incorporating students’ unique expertise and interests. Students are expected to pursue structured, supervised original research into one of the many business and management related fields in which the Faculty has expertise. After the completion of the programme, students’ knowledge and credentials will have a greater impact in management consultancy and professional research and their research degree can provide a springboard for careers in these fields.
A thesis containing up to 100,000 words on an agreed topic under supervision. The thesis carries 40 modular credits. Although the programme is based entirely on research, students upon recommendation by their respective supervisor/ programme leader may be directed to take some postgraduate modules relevant to their research topic.
Full time – 3-5 years
Part time – 5-7 years
