This specialization prepares you to engage organizations and communities in social change. You will build your knowledge in community intervention and learn to help organize, coordinate, promote, and lead efforts to improve living and working conditions as well as assess community needs. This program emphasizes action research in building toward your dissertation, in which you will develop knowledge about working with communities. You will also describe and apply theories of community psychology in relation to social change.
With this specialization, you could work in a variety of human and social services roles in governmental and nongovernmental organizations.
