A doctorate in philosophy from the specific area of Contemporary Thought is unique in the country and lies in the nuclear target of practical philosophy as knowledge assets, linked to this real world (that critically deconstructed in order to better understand and track). This course, despite the recent implementation, benefits from previous work done on that area of philosophy, when implemented in R&D Unit in Science, Technology and Society. Under the coordination of Dr. Santos Neves, published there the book "Introduction to Contemporary Thought ', financed by FCT, which has the support of a hundred authors of science quite distant, but all of which coincide in the matrix of the applied current thinking. In the same scope, the course has edited several issues of the journal Metacritic, which is now proposed to recover, in partnership with ECAT. The course also benefits from their relationships that keep teachers and researchers in research centers where cooperating national and international. worship of these, bind to the Theses of doctoral research projects funded by FCT. ECAT Through this course celebrates projects in national and international partnership in the particular area of Contemporary Thought, Culture and Communication.
