Justification and Purpose The Doctoral Programme in Marketing and Strategy is a project that enhances the synergies of three recognised national higher education institutions: the University of Minho, Aveiro University and the University of Beira Interior, respectively. Their primary objective is to provide doctoral students with an insight into the state-of-the-art about the advances of scientific knowledge in Marketing and Strategy. It is a programme of international scope, complete and innovative, which resorts to education in the English language. In addition, it is flexible, as it offers the possibility to develop studies/research in a part-time or full-time regime. It is a six-semester-long programme, which corresponds to 180 ECTS. Therefore, it combines the structural components of Marketing and Strategy and specific optional course units of both areas, at two different times: the first year is dedicated to coursework and research in the three above-mentioned universities, according to their calendars, and the last two years is devoted to the design and elaboration of an original doctoral thesis. Doctoral candidates have the opportunity to acquire academic and professional skills that promote their career, in particular, in high positions of private and public, national and international institutions or while recognised leaders and managers when developing a given business idea. Hence, this doctoral programme envisages the strengthening of skills of research, analysis, autonomous and creative production of scientific knowledge and its dissemination worldwide. [-]
