Doctor of Business Administration (DBA)
This Doctor of Business Administration (DBA)is a three-year program that is specifically designed to provide a rich learning experience for professionals who aspire to pursue a postgraduate qualification. This program brings together future leaders of the public and private sectors, of various nationalities. This is where these professionals meet and share experiences and ideas that would be valuable in the process of learning. In this program, you will have the opportunity to learn and apply various theories in business and management and also develop professional practice.
Program Aims and Learning Outcomes
The program aims at producing graduates who are capable of generating and disseminating new knowledge, as well as responding to changing business environment and the interest of stakeholders. Upon completion of the program, you will be able to:
1.Engage in intellectual discourse on business and management issues.
2.Review, communicate and apply appropriate theories in professional practice.
3.Evaluate problems and develop solutions in the field of business and management.
4.Disseminate new ideas and findings from research to the business, and academic communities, as well as the society in general.
5.Share ideas and experience with not only their colleagues and work teams but also other practitioners and academicians from a wide range of backgrounds, countries, organizations, and disciplines.
6.Demonstrate professionalism and compliance with ethical standards in executing their accountabilities and responsibilities.
7.Contribute to the body of knowledge that is of theoretical and practical significance by research.
8.Perform effectively as a manager by exhibiting innovativeness, good judgment, and decision; as well as providing direction for their subordinates.
9.Perform effectively as a leader in the context of an organization or the society as a whole.
Admission into the program can be granted based on the criteria specified below:
1.A Master’s degree from Universiti Utara Malaysia or any other institutions of higher learning recognized by the University Senate, or any other equivalent qualification recognized by the University Senate; AND
2.Have a minimum of five (5) years of work experience relevant to the chosen area of specialization; AND
3.Fulfills the English Language Requirement as set by the University Senate.
