Program Description

The Doctoral School of the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław is an artistic and research unit, educating people with significant artistic achievements and high research potential. The doctoral program lasts 6 semesters and enables them to obtain advanced knowledge and skills. It is a preparation for receiving a Ph.D. degree in the field of art in the discipline of fine arts and art conservation.

Doctoral School offers a 3-year (6 semesters) interdisciplinary research program, with the possibility to study in one of our four faculties. It is addressed to graduates of Master Degree studies who show exceptional ability and significant artistic achievement. The program is free of charge for both EU and non-EU citizens. The Academy offers a monthly scholarship for each Ph.D. student.

Theoretical classes in the Doctoral School are taught only in English.

Participants of the School will receive scholarships in the amount of PLN 2 104 per month in the first period of education, and then in the amount of PLN 3 242 after obtaining a positive mid-term evaluation.

All foreign graduation diplomas must be accompanied by an apostille Diplomas, transcripts, and certificates issued in a language other than Polish or English have to be translated into the Polish language by a Polish sworn translator.

The Academy provides instruction at four Faculties: Painting and Sculpture, Ceramics and Glass, Graphics and Media Art, and Interior Architecture and Design, to about 1 000 students. The students can select one of the six majors: painting, sculpture, graphics, design, interior architecture and media art on full-time five-year MFA or part-time two-tier BFA and MFA courses.
