Program description
General purpose
To train highly qualified personnel in the areas of chemistry, biology and health sciences, with an interdisciplinary vision, that contributes to solving the health problems.
Specific objectives
To train human resources of high scientific quality in the areas of Biological Chemistry and Health so that, through the autonomous and creative exercise of research work, with solid theoretical and methodological skills, help in the solution of problems related to health in the different areas areas of this sector.
To train human resources of high academic quality in the Biological and Health Chemistry areas that participate in higher level teaching activities.
Prepare human resources with skills to be incorporated into the different areas of the labor market where decisions are made related to the integration processes that link the different areas related to the Biological and Health Sciences.

How to enter this postgraduate course?
Entry requirements
Original and 2 copies of the master's degree in the area of Biological and Health Sciences.
Official document with minimum average mastery of 80 or equivalent.
Proof of the EXANI-III postgraduate entrance examination, with a minimum score of 1000.
Official document that endorses 480 TOEFL points.
Curriculum vitae, with vouchers.
Letter of intention expressing the reasons that the student has to study the program.
Two letters of academic recommendation.
Present Research Proposal to be developed (10 pages, endorsed by the tutor, as well as financing evidence).
The tutor must meet the criteria established by the Academic Committee of the Program.
Personal interview with the Admission Committee, which will ultimately resolve.
Application for Income
Original or certified copy of birth certificate, official identification with photograph, CURP, three child-sized photographs.
Copy of the master's degree certificate, indicating the total of credits covered.
If you have been a CONACyT Scholar, submit a release letter.
For foreign students: Submit a copy of your immigration permit to study in Mexico (copy of your VISA and "Student Temporary Resident Card). Applicants whose mother tongue is different from Spanish will be subject to an assessment of the proficiency of this language. The master's degree must be apostilled by the government of the foreign country or legalized by the Mexican embassy of the country where the student comes from. Have knowledge and skills from some area of the Biological and Health Sciences (including Biology, Medicine, Nutrition, Psychology, Chemistry, Chemical Biologist, and those approved by the Graduate Academic Committee).
Demonstrate interest in acquiring excellent training for the development of scientific research in the area of Biological Chemistry and Health sciences.
Skill in the domain of knowledge dissemination, with emphasis on the use of the English language.

Critical and proactive attitude for the analysis of problems in the Biological and Health Sciences.

What do you need to get the degree?
Qualification requirements
To obtain a PhD degree, you must:
Comply with 100% of the assigned credits and contents within the curriculum.
Have at least one article accepted, in press or published, and one sent, product of the work of doctoral thesis where the student appears as the first author, in national or international circulation magazine, and indexed in JCR.
Pass the exam of grade before a jury proposed by the program coordinator, and endorsed by the Academic Committee of the Postgraduate Course.
When the supporter does not pass the general knowledge examination or the grade examination in the oral phase, he will be entitled to a second and last opportunity within a period of no more than six months.
Comply with the provisions and requirements demanded by the School Services Office for the issuance of the degree.
Titration options
Pass grade exam in the written and oral phase; The written phase will consist of an individual thesis, in which a coherent overall research effort will be shown, following a scientific methodology.

Registration and tuition fees
Students, when enrolling in any of the graduate programs, must cover the corresponding fees according to the current minimum wage in the city of Hermosillo, as established in the Quotas Regulation.
