EngD Carbon Capture and Storage and Cleaner Fossil Energy

The University of Nottingham - Faculty of Engineering

The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and Medical Research Council (MRC) have provided funding for 15 studentships and produce research leaders who will tackle the major challenges in generating electricity more efficiently using fossil energy.

This course is aimed at graduate engineering students who will become a new kind of engineer increasingly in demand by today’s industry; an engineer who is aware of the social, ethical and environmental implications of their design and construction decisions. The EngD training provides:

  • an in-depth four-year training programme
  • for those who satisfy the UK residency requirements, a non-taxed stipend of up to £18,363 p.a
  • for EU and International students - Home/EU fees and a basic stipend
  • approximately three years' extensive research time in close collaboration with industry partners

Entry requirements

Applicants will need either a first-class or upper-second-class honors degree in a relevant subject.
