FPM-ABPM programme is designed to equip students with professional skills suitable for careers in management teaching, research, training and consultancy positions both within and outside academia. Students select their field of specialization from areas, where the Industry demands and the Institute has expertise. The Institute’s FPM-ABPM scholars are expected to play a leading role in meeting the nation’s increasing need for deeper analytical skills and practically relevant research capability in the field of management. The programme draws upon Indian and global experience in doctoral education in management and various relate fields. The programme is also designed to serve as a venue for nurturing various academic debate concerning management research and activities of CARP. The programme structure includes a significant component of research training, facilitated by both in-house and visiting researchers. FPM-ABPM participants are expected to develop a deep understanding in the areas of research selected by them.
The minimum expected duration of the programme is four years and the maximum permitted period is six years. Students failing to complete the requirements within this time period will be deemed to have withdrawn from the programme. For the first two years, the student does course work and in the subsequent years he/she does dissertation work.
Post-graduates from any discipline with at least 55% marks having a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification obtained after a minimum of three years of work subsequent to higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent, are eligible to apply. Those who possess professional qualifications such as CA, ICWA and CS that are considered equivalent to a postgraduate degree and have at least 55% marks, are also eligible.
Eligible candidates with any one of the following score will be called directly for Presentation and Interview:
* CAT (scores of two years old with required cut off) as decided by the IIPMB.
* GMAT/GRE (not older than five years)
* UGC-CSIR-JRF/NET (scores not older than five years) in relevant area of specialization.
* ICAR NET (scores not older than 5 years)
NRIs and foreign candidates with valid scores are eligible to apply.
