The PhD in Management is an intense and rigorous four-year program that equips student with the research skills to become world-leading experts in their chosen field of studies. The program is entirely taught in English.
Under the guidance of an internationally renowned faculty, students conduct independent field-based research in strategy, innovation and entrepreneurship, marketing, accounting, and corporate finance. Graduate students find placement primarily in academia and research institutions as well as in large consulting organizations and firms.
The first two years of the program are dedicated to coursework, whereas the third and fourth years are dedicated to research and dissertation. To develop a program suited to their interests, students are encouraged to gain research experience by closely working with the LUISS faculty and to spend at least one semester at an internationally renowned research university. Throughout the program, students are exposed to seminars and workshops on publication strategies and approaches to the international job market.

LUISS invites outstanding candidates to apply for the PhD Program in Management. The PhD is a 4-year full time programme. All classes are taught in English. Graduating students find placement primarily in the world of research, both academic and non-academic, as well as in large consulting organizations and firms.
LUISS offers up to seven fellowships to attend the PhD. Admitted students are offered a financial support package which includes a tuition waiver and a stipend of approx. 12.500€ net per year to cover living expenses during the 4 years of the degree. Additionally, students have access to funding for research trips as well as a grant increment if they spend a visiting period at a prestigious international university.

The PhD program is comprised of four years of full-time study. The first two years are dedicated to coursework, while the third and fourth years are dedicated to research and dissertation. Year 1 consists of disciplinary courses in management and research methods. Year 2 is dedicated to courses on a chosen field of specialization, concluding with the development of a research proposal. Years 3 and 4 are devoted to research and to dissertation preparation, culminating in the submission and defense of the thesis. To develop a program suited to their interests, students are encouraged to gain research experience by closely working with the LUISS faculty and to spend at least one semester at an internationally renowned research university.

HOW TO APPLY
The application for admission must be submitted on line by April, 20 2017. In order for us to consider your application it is necessary that you submit a complete application. You must upload all of the requested documentation, and supply correct referee details through our online application system.
Students applying for the Doctoral Program must have completed a Laurea Magistrale or a Laurea (vecchio ordinamento) or any other equivalent foreign (Master) degree no later than July 31, 2017.
Along with the application form students must upload:
- a certificate/autocertification setting out the exams sat, the grade obtained in each of the said exams, the grade point average and the degree grade (for each degree held);
- curriculum vitae indicating the qualifications held
- ID card/passport
- a list of publications in areas pertinent to the doctoral program
- 2 reference letters from a university professor;
- a research proposal (max.3 pages)
- certificate of English Knowledge (i.g. IELTS O TOEFL)
- GMAT certificate

Complete applications are considered by the Academic Selection Committee. The selection is based on the above documents and any other academic degrees and certificates that the candidates may want to submit along with their application (such as GMAT and/or certificates of English proficiency).
The Academic Selection Committee will short list and interview a selected number of candidates.
From May 22 to June 16, 2017. In the case of overseas candidates, Skype interview will be arranged.
Successuful candidates will receive official notification from the Ufficio Dottorati. Students holding a Master degree granted by a foreign institution will need a legal transcript translated in Italian along with a Certificate of Validation (dichiarazione di valore) issued by an Italian Diplomatic Office from the same country where the degree has been granted.
