1. Qualification for Admission to the Course: To be admitted to the Ph.D. (Economics) degree programme candidates must have obtained a masters degree in Economics from the University of Ghana or at some other approved University.
1.1 Candidates who obtained their M.Phil degree in Economics at the University of Ghana or at some other University approved for the purposes may be exempted from the coursework.

The programme is open to all candidates with a good first degree (i.e. at least second class lower division) in any relevant social and natural science, but applicants will be required to take prescribed courses depending on their backgrounds and prior courses of study.
M.Phil Migration Studies
Applicants who already possess an MA in migration studies or another related subject area from another university may be considered for admission into the M.Phil programme directly.
Candidates who obtain an average grade of B+ or higher at the MA level may be considered for upgrading to an M.Phil programme.
The M.Phil programme will run for another 12 months after the M.A degree. Beyond this, students are free to take electives from other departments upon consultation with the head of the Centre or academic advisor of the Centre and the department or institute concerned....
