This Signal and Information Processingdiscipline is MEng and Ph.D. degree conferring site. There are 16 professors and 3 associate professors, 4 doctor tutors and 15 master tutors. The discipline was granted the right of conferring M.E in 1986 and Ph.E in the year 2000. During “The tenth five year plan”, we have deeply developed the research of non-linear information signal processing and visual image recognition, especially in morphology filter and stack filter technology. Master students are researching in these fields and accumulate many experiences in technology. Many awards of teaching and researching are conferred. In recent years, over 50 papers are published in journals and conferences and over 30 papers of them were indexed by SCI、EI and ISTP. More than 30 projects of national and ministry level and 18 projects of industry sectors are undertaken. 1 projects are conferred second-class award of Hei longjiang province technology progress, 1 projects are conferred third class award. Labs for teaching and researching are Intellect information processing lab, underwater multi-sensor information processing lab, image processing lab, etc. There are lots of information processing equipment and development instruments and many young promising teachers in the frontline of research work.
