Philosophy of Program
The Doctor of Education (Educational Administration) Program creates managerial leaders for education institutions from the public and private sectors with a specialization in educational administration as well as moral and professional ethics to achieve maximum performance results of the organization. Those leaders can integrate the knowledge in management with research to support the steady development of the organization, community, society, and the nation. The philosophy of this program, thus, is “Knowledge, Enlightenment, and Dignity towards Sustainable Prosperity.” This program welcomes interested individuals, chief executives in educational organizations from both public and private sectors, inspector generals, principals, schoolmasters, education executives, academics, teachers in higher education institutions, educational researchers, supervisors, educational consultants from both public and private sectors, and coordinators of international education institutions.
Objectives of Program
To produce Ph.D. graduates with the ability to become a professional manager and executive. Graduates will be knowledgeable and capable to develop the education in accordance with the standards of the Teachers Council.
To produce Ph.D. graduates with the capability to become a professional development manager, academic leader and quality assurance leader. Graduates will be knowledgeable to produce academic works, management courses, and conduct the measurement and evaluation of teaching and learning.
To produce Ph.D. graduates with the ability to plan and organize student activities, quality education promotion, educational resources sourcing, and research conduction that creates new knowledge in educational administration under both qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
To produce Ph.D. graduates with leadership, responsibility, critical thinking, ability to synthesize data, human relations skills, and education management networking.
To produce Ph.D. graduates who are skilled in intellectual, innovation, and communication. Graduates will have the knowledge on the use of information technology and educational supervision with moral and ethics in professional conduct.
To provide opportunities and experiences in operational management and change management in the context of education administration, as well as economy, social sciences, religion, and multicultural natters. Graduates will have the knowledge on management of the ASEAN Community, strategic planning for local development, good governance towards management excellence and international education.
Modes of Study
The Ph.D. program provides two modes of study for students:
Plan 1: Dissertation mode (research-based): not less than 48 credits
Plan 2: Coursework mode: not less than 60 credits
Study on weekdays or on Saturdays and Sundays in normal semesters and summer session within the study duration of 3 years (not more than 6 years). The instructional date might be adjusted as necessary and deemed appropriate by the Program Committee.

Qualification of Candidates
Candidates must hold a Master’s Degree or equivalent from institution of higher education located both in Thailand and abroad and the Degree must be approved by the Office of Higher Education Commission (OHEC) or the Office of The Civil Service Commission (OCSC). In the case of dissertation mode application, candidates must have conducted at least one Master’s Degree thesis or a research that has been published an accepted source(s).
Candidates must have the experience in working in education institution in accordance with the regulations imposed or prescribed by the Teachers Council or the Ministry of Education of which is certified by supervisor(s), except for those who graduated a Master’s Degree program with the enrolment management courses of at least 15 credits under a binary system, or other related subjects deemed appropriate by the Program Committee.
Candidates must pass the English Proficiency Test organized by Hatyai University, or pass a TOEFL test with the scores of at least 500, or pass an IELTS test with the scores of at least 5.5; both tests must be taken within last 2 years two from the date of application (except for the candidates who graduated from institution in which the English language is utilized in teaching and learning both in domestic and foreign country.)
Candidates must submit the results of an English proficiency test that complies with the University requirements.
Candidates must have the potential and readiness to study in the doctoral degree program.
Candidates must have not been convicted of any felony.
Candidates must not have contagious diseases i.e., tuberculosis or other chronic diseases i.e., alcoholism or be addicted to drugs. Candidates must submit a medical certificate issued by a certified doctor for admissions.
Expenses of the Program
The expenses throughout the curriculum is THB 600,000.
Expenses of the program is THB 100,000 baht per semester, including:
