A History PhD can be taken to be an enrichment to one’s understanding of the various social and traditional, cultural backgrounds of people. The history course requires some prerequisite training in the field as well as research aspects on the same. You must also have a master's degree in history which is within merit and also accepted by the universities.

In all, there are over 4000 Higher Education Institutions in Europe offering a wide range of courses at Bachelor, Masters and Doctorate level. With more and more of these organizations offering English as the language of education for at least some of their degree programs, universities in Europe are now of higher quality than ever before. Graduates are equipped to work with original Latin documents, i.e. literary and diplomatic manuscripts, incunabula, paleotypes and old prints, being able to interpret and prepare them for publication and translation. The field of research is defined as Europe, including the Czech Republic and/or Czechoslovakia, its predecessor. The research should be approached in a supra-regional, inter-disciplinary and possibly comparative way, focusing particularly on the cultural, spiritual, social and political as well as the day-to-day history of Europe since the end of World War I, and the history of Czechoslovakia and the Czech Lands perceived in its European context. -
