The Doctorate in Biological Sciences is a postgraduate program recognized by its HIGH QUALITY in the level of Consolidation granted by CONACYT in the National Program of Postgraduate Quality (PNPC).
The program offers two modalities: the Direct from Degree with a duration of 48 months (4 years) and the Traditional from Masters of 36 months (3 years). The postgraduate is oriented to the investigation, reason why its graduates achieve a formation in investigation with the capacities to realize original and innovative research and to be considered like valuable individuals by its employers. The Doctoral Program in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering presented comes from the rigorous adaptation of the Chemical Doctorate and Chemical Engineering Program, Mention of Quality of the MEC since 2004 (MCD 2004/00261) which also obtained the Mention Toward Excellence in the year 2011 (MEE2011-0426).
The social context in which the program is developed is that of a community with a scarce industrial fabric, which includes 224 companies within the chemical industry concept, 97 in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and 127 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, according to the directory of companies.

This proposal proposes an interdisciplinary doctorate whose itineraries in specific areas of specialization allow the formation of PhD students in different areas of knowledge (Fundamental Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Mathematical Transfer, Information Technologies, among others). In these moments, the scientific production and the formative capacity of the researchers of the different groups in the field of the Scientific Computing, Mathematical, Mathematical Models and Statistical Techniques advises the creation of a specific doctorate program, with its own identity, that allows the consolidation of the research and transfer activity in this area.
