Theology

A PhD is the abbreviation for Doctor of philosophy. This degree is a post graduate program delivered to a high level student researcher who has done deep research in a specific field or subject.

Although some people study theology to prepare for a particular religious order, others study it to understand the divine. Through reviewing religious and philosophical beliefs throughout history, students can gain a better grasp not only on each of the specific traditions but also on people’s beliefs in general.

PhD candidates are expected to have the ability to interact with their primary sources in the original languages (e.g. Hebrew or Greek) as well as with secondary material in the main research languages (English, French and German).
