This is misleading because PhD holders are not necessarily philosophers (unless they earned their degree in philosophy!). That said, PhD recipients are able to engage in thought experiments, reason about problems, and solve problems in sophisticated ways.

A PhD, or Doctor of Philosophy, is a degree that is earned after completing research in a student’s area of study. Program entry often requires a master’s degree, and graduation occurs after the passing of a final thesis or dissertation.
