The doctoral program delivers the skills necessary to conduct advanced research at universities, public bodies, or private organizations for the purpose of advancing scientific and technological progress and creating a managerial class with a high-level professional culture and a corresponding international openness. The specific objective of the doctoral program is to train professionals able to develop high-quality and innovative information and telecommunication systems addressed to solving complex problems. It also pursues the goal of enhancing the doctoral students’ entrepreneurial abilities by furnishing specific training and opportunities to undertake internships.

The Doctoral Training Center - DTC is an innovation-oriented educational path, additional to the Doctoral School, offered by the University of Trento and EIT Digital and directed to Ph.D. students that have a passion for creativity and innovation.
The "ICT International Doctoral School" encourages transdisciplinary programs to pursue the promotion of cross-disciplinary research within the Ph.D. program, the training of Ph.D. students with cross-disciplinary skills, and the increase of collaborations with the other institutions. The Transdisciplinary Program in Computational Biology - in collaboration with the International Ph.D. Program in Biomolecular Sciences of the CIBIO of the University of Trento - aims at training Ph. D.s with complementary competencies in Computational Biology.
