Introduction
All doctoral training in mathematics are consolidated within the Hadamard Doctoral School of Mathematics (EDMH) for the areas covered by the Université Paris-Saclay and the Institut Polytechnique de Paris.
This training ranges from pure mathematics to the most applied mathematics, including subjects at the interface with mathematics: particularly with economics, IT, mechanical engineering, physics, engineering, and life sciences.
EDMH encompasses 15 institutions belonging to the Université Paris-Saclay and Institut Polytechnique de Paris, as well as a co-accredited institution (via Paris Sciences & Lettres) – the École Normale Supérieure – with 18 host laboratories, more than 300 Ph.D. students, and more than 240 accredited Ph.D. supervisors.
The EDMH is extremely open to international recruitment. EDMH is heavily supported by the Fondation Mathématique Jacques Hadamard (FMJH), and by the Labex de Mathématique Hadamard (LMH) for Ph.D. grants, administrative staff, and funding.

Curriculum
Research in mathematics
At the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, research in mathematics covers all fields ranging from pure mathematics (algebra, analysis, geometry, etc.) to applied mathematics (numerical analysis, scientific computing, mathematical engineering, financial mathematics, modeling, optimization, probability, statistics, etc.).
A very strong emphasis is made on applications in a variety of domains including computer science and artificial intelligence, engineering, mechanics and mathematical physics, financial mathematics, economy.
For the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, the research laboratories depending on EDMH are the following:
- École Polytechnique
- Centre de mathématiques appliquées
- Centre de mathématiques Laurent Schwartz
- ENSTA Paris
- Unité de Mathématiques Appliquées de l’ENSTA Paris
- ENSAE Paris
- Centre de Recherche en Économie et Statistique
- Télécom Paris
- LTCI
- Télécom SudParis
- SAMOVAR
All of these institutions are represented at EDMH by a scientific correspondent who is the focal contact point for doctorates and tutors.
