Introduction
The awarded degree, in recognition of the completion of the requirements of this program, is "Doctor in Cellular and Molecular Biology”. The study plan for the Ph.D. Program shall consist of a total of 54 credit hours. The Ph.D. students must complete all degree requirements in a minimum of six (6) and a maximum of twelve (12) semesters after matriculation. The Program includes 6 credit hours of College of Science mandatory courses, 9 credit hours of Program compulsory courses, 6 CH credit hours of Program electives, and 30 credit hours for Thesis. The Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology is a full-time and English-based program. Applicants must have successfully completed a Master's degree or equivalent in Biology or a related field, with an associated cumulative GPA of 3.3 or more (on a scale of 4), and should provide proof of proficiency in English. IELTS of less than two years with a minimum score of 6 is required. TOEFL is also accepted.

The purpose of the “Ph.D. Scholarship” is to recruit high-achieving graduate students in certain majors at UAEU and provide them with full and continuous financial support to pursue their graduate studies at UAEU.
Student Eligibility
- Have a GPA ≥ of 3.5/4.0 in the Master's degree.
- A score of 6.5 or higher on the IELTS Academic exam or equivalent.
- Have no employment or other financial sponsorship.
- Have a dissertation in one of the UAE priority sectors(Renewable Energy, Transportation, Education, Health, Water, Technology, Space).
- Meet the Ph.D. admission requirements.

- During the first 3 semesters of active enrollment: 35 hours/week on courses and/or research project + 5 hours/week as a Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) or Graduate Administrative Assistant (GAA).
- After 3 semesters of active enrollment: 30 hours/week on courses and/or research project + 10 hours/week as a Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) or Graduate Administrative Assistant (GAA).
Ph.D. Fellowship (All Nationalities) Full-Time
The purpose of the “Ph.D. Fellowship” is to recruit high-achieving graduate students in certain majors at UAEU and provide them with full and continuous financial support to pursue their graduate studies at UAEU.

- Have a GPA ≥ of 3.0/4.0 in the Master's degree.
- Pay the tuition fees of the Ph.D. program.
- Prefer to have the dissertation in one of the UAE priority sectors(Renewable Energy, Transportation, Education, Health, Water, Technology, Space).
- Meet the Ph.D. admission requirements.
Benefits
- Optional work as Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) or Graduate Administrative Assistant (GAA) up to 10 hours per week upon availability by College or College of Graduate Studies (up to AED 2,000).

Merit Fellowship Award
To receive the Merit Award, students are expected to have high academic credentials and maintain their academic success at the UAEU. The Merit Fellowship Award offers financial assistance in the form of partial tuition waiver to qualified students. Students in STEM and strategic areas of the country (renewable energy, transportation, health, water resources, technology, space) will have priority.
Student Eligibility:
- Have Excellent Academic Standing (GPA ≥ 3.6/4.0).
- Maintain a GPA ≥3.6/4.0 during study at UAEU.
- Have no other financial sponsorship or award.

Duration:
- Valid until graduation as long as the student is abiding with the Student Eligibility conditions.
