Introduction
The Doctor of Philosophy program in Informatics and Computing is an interdisciplinary research program that provides students with a unique opportunity to study the application of the latest information and computing technologies to a vast variety of fields while considering their impact on individuals, organizations, and society. It fosters innovations in a wide range of research areas including High Performance and Parallel Computing, Big Data and Cloud Computing, Internet of Things, Design and Analysis of Next-generation Networks, Bio/Health Informatics, and Cyber and Information Security. The program is designed to prepare specialists capable of providing leadership and necessary technical expertise to governmental, private, and academic sectors, and to empower them with the knowledge and skills to develop and further excel in the professional world.

Ph.D. Scholarship (All Nationalities) Full-Time
The purpose of the “Ph.D. Scholarship” is to recruit high-achieving graduate students in certain majors at UAEU and provide them with full and continuous financial support to pursue their graduate studies at UAEU.
Student Eligibility
- Have a GPA ≥ of 3.5/4.0 in the Master's degree.
- A score of 6.5 or higher on the IELTS Academic exam or equivalent.
- Have no employment or other financial sponsorship.
- Have a dissertation in one of the UAE priority sectors(Renewable Energy, Transportation, Education, Health, Water, Technology, Space).
- Meet the Ph.D. admission requirements.
Benefits
- Full tuition waiver.
- Monthly Stipend.
- Health insurance (if needed).
- Extra Bonus:
- Up to AED 3,000 from the supervisor’s external research project, or
- Up to AED 2,000 from the supervisor’s internal research project.

- Maintain a GPA of ≥ 3.3 at the Ph.D. level.
- Be enrolled full-time (minimum of 9 credits/semester) at the Ph.D. level.
- Be available at UAEU full-time.
- Commit to a minimum of 40 hours/week as the following:
- During the first 3 semesters of active enrollment: 35 hours/week on courses and/or research project + 5 hours/week as a Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) or Graduate Administrative Assistant (GAA).
- After 3 semesters of active enrollment: 30 hours/week on courses and/or research project + 10 hours/week as a Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) or Graduate Administrative Assistant (GAA).
Ph.D. Fellowship (All Nationalities) Full-Time
The purpose of the “Ph.D. Fellowship” is to recruit high-achieving graduate students in certain majors at UAEU and provide them with full and continuous financial support to pursue their graduate studies at UAEU.

- Have a GPA ≥ of 3.3/4.0 in the Master's degree.

Student Eligibility
- Have a GPA ≥ of 3.0/4.0 in the Master's degree.
- Pay the tuition fees of the Ph.D. program.
- Prefer to have the dissertation in one of the UAE priority sectors(Renewable Energy, Transportation, Education, Health, Water, Technology, Space).
- Meet the Ph.D. admission requirements.
Benefits
- Optional work as Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) or Graduate Administrative Assistant (GAA) up to 10 hours per week upon availability by College or College of Graduate Studies (up to AED 2,000).
- Extra Bonus:

Duties and Expectations

- The applicant can be an employee and work outside of UAE University.
- The applicant can have external financial sponsorship from any organization.
Merit Fellowship Award
To receive the Merit Award, students are expected to have high academic credentials and maintain their academic success at the UAEU. The Merit Fellowship Award offers financial assistance in the form of partial tuition waiver to qualified students. Students in STEM and strategic areas of the country (renewable energy, transportation, health, water resources, technology, space) will have priority.
Student Eligibility:
- Have Excellent Academic Standing (GPA ≥ 3.6/4.0).
- Maintain a GPA ≥3.6/4.0 during study at UAEU.
- Have no other financial sponsorship or award.
Benefits:
- 50% discount on tuition fees.
Duration:
- Valid until graduation as long as the student is abiding with the Student Eligibility conditions.
