Introduction
It is an interuniversity Doctorate Program at the universities of Vigo, a Coruña and Santiago de Compostela with which it is intended to generate an interprofessional space between the different agents that participate in the protection of Heritage in their different perspectives: documentation and valuation of the asset culture, characterization of the materials of the property and the environment in which it is found, mechanisms of deterioration and diagnosis and, finally, direct or indirect intervention on the Heritage.
This Program also aims to respond to the current demand in Galicia for research training by the groups involved in the protection of cultural heritage, grouping all the disciplines that participate or contribute to it.
It is therefore an eminently multidisciplinary program since the disciplines that deal with research on heritage are varied, among others: history, geography, art history, archeology, chemistry, physics, geology, biology, architecture, conservation and restoration. , as well as various technologies. The teaching staff involved in this Program, by the USC, belong fundamentally to the faculties of Geography and History, Biology and Pharmacy.
