Introduction
The Doctoral Program in Literature and Cultural Studies is characterized by an emphasis on literary studies from different methodological and linguistic perspectives, with an openness towards cultural analysis. Among the previous programs that are part of this new proposal are the Theory of Literature and Comparative Literature, originally linked to a Mundus Master, and the Study and Annotation of Spanish Literary Texts. Likewise, other programs are incorporated that are registered in the fields of Latin, Greek, Italian, French, Galician, Portuguese and German philology.
The objective is to consolidate a competitive program at a Spanish and international level, based on a long and successful previous career in the specific field of literary studies and cultural analysis. The Program intends, on the other hand, to consolidate an intense commitment to internationalization that benefits the training of students and the research competitiveness of the USC.

Ideal Students
Students who have completed the following official master's degrees will have direct access, without the need to take additional training:
- Master of Study and Editing of Spanish and Latin American Literary Texts.
- Master of English Studies: Current Trends and Applications
- Master's Degree in European Medieval Studies: Images, Texts and Contexts.
- Master's Degree in Theoretical and Comparative Studies of Literature and Culture.
- Master's Degree in Cultural Services.
- Erasmus Mundus Crossways Master in Cultural Narratives.
- Master in Language and Cultural Studies
- Other master's degrees or DEAs in the field of Humanities and Social Sciences, which in the opinion of the academic committee, do not require training complements.
Regarding the completion of training activities, once admission to the doctoral program has been achieved, accreditation of certain language levels may be required for their completion. It will be necessary to document a B2 level to be eligible to participate in the Hermes Seminar.
The academic committee will decide, when accepting the admission of new students, who needs additional training. Students from the field of social sciences and, in all probability, those who could apply for admission with training in other fields are predictably in such a situation. Applicants from the field of humanities and, of course, those who have completed the master's degrees to which direct access is recognized will not need any additional training. The specific training complements will be taken from the common subjects of the Master in Literature and Cultural Studies.
