The Doctorate Program in Mathematics, associated with the "Campus Vida" of International Excellence of the USC, and with a quality mention obtained in 2008, has a long history at this University. The doctors trained in it created research groups that attended and successfully attend regional, national and European calls for funding and their publications achieved and continue to achieve levels of high quality and impact.
According to the 2014 ranking of the National Taiwan University, USC is number 57 in the world in mathematical research, 13 at the European level and the first in Spain, a position confirmed by the ranking of the University of Granada repeatedly. The Program covers all the fundamental branches of mathematics: algebra, analysis, geometry, topology and astronomy, which allows a wide range of training for students.
