Introduction

This National Ph.D. program aims to educate and train a new generation of researchers, professionals and innovators on “Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology” who can provide proper answers to the scientific and innovation emerging challenges from the private sector and public administration.

The proposed Ph.D. of National Interest offers a Ph.D. program on Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology that is inherently interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary. The curricula chosen are a summary of the main uses and interests that have emerged in the national and international strategic agendas of research, innovation and development in our Country and in Europe. They involve a horizontal thematic component"

Methodologies, technologies and tools" of foundational aspects and transversal interests, from which various vertical thematic components provide specializations on strategic sectors and application domains.

The course includes research projects in eight thematic areas:

  • Methodologies, technologies and tools
  • Social systems and smart societies
  • Health and well-being
  • Economics and finance
  • Law and Governance
  • Industry 4.0
  • Climate, energy and mobility
  • Agriculture and agrifood

An in-depth analysis of the main scientific questions will be guaranteed by the collaboration between the research groups participating to this doctoral project. Collaboration with renowned experts from other national and international institutions will also be encouraged.

The educational program specifically designed for the PhD candidates provides suitable in-depth knowledge and technical expertise in their chosen area of research, and high-level inter- and multi-disciplinary education in the other seven curricula. The language of the course will be English.
