Introduction
The PhD in Management at the University of Évora is one of the oldest PhD programs in this scientific area in Portugal. The program is intended for those who want to pursue an academic career or do research either in public or private institutions, or those who want to pursue top management careers. The program provides solid training in the various fields of management and aims to deepen knowledge and develop research skills in management. The curricular part of the program trains students in the use of research methods and essential analytical methods in management and exposes students to the main management theories while allowing students to specialize in specific areas of management. During the thesis period, students develop their research activity, have to participate in seminars and conferences and have to publish articles. In summary, the PhD in Management aims to train PhD students so that they are able to understand management problems and contribute to the scientific knowledge in this field.

We are located in south Portugal, near Lisbon, the capital of the country, but also very close to Algarve where you can enjoy amazing beaches. The University of Évora does not have a university campus per se. The city of Évora is your campus, all the buildings where you will have classes are scattered from the center to the outskirts of the city. Are students allowed to work while studying?
There is no barrier to students being able to combine their academic path with a job. In fact, the University of Évora has its own special regime for working students.
