Introduction
The College of Human Environmental Sciences (HES) addresses human needs and enhances individual and family life in a diverse and global society by conducting advanced research, preparing professionals, and providing outreach.
We use holistic and interdisciplinary approaches to solve complex life challenges faced by individuals, families, and communities in Missouri, the United States, and globally. HES has award-winning teaching faculty and the academic programs are also highly-ranked, including Personal Financial Planning and Textile and Apparel Management. HES has been a campus leader in using distance learning at the BS, MS, and Ph.D. levels, including developing the first online Ph.D. in Architectural Studies, innovative curriculum through participation in the Great Plains IDEA in and continuous development of new distance learning initiatives.
