Introduction
A doctoral degree in Economy and Management allows by its structure and content focus to link to the knowledge gained from a master's degree. It is a major research-oriented knowledge and skill associated with the study of many subjects that are tied to the functional areas of business systems. Within the scientific research preparation, students are trained in subjects including applications of exact methods that enhance the effectiveness of both analytical activities in the company, and the search and evaluation of alternative solutions to various business problems. In the study, students also process research and professional work using scientific methods and approaches to the issues of these works. These works then enable the preparation of the final doctoral dissertation with significant levels of work-oriented work of a research nature. This work is the ultimate goal of doctoral studies in the field. Throughout the study, doctoral students are taught by professional tutors.

Graduate's General Competence
The graduates of this doctoral study branch are competently prepared for the effective application of knowledge acquired during their study and skills in the area of possible future research activities and work for subjects that require the implementation of modern knowledge and innovation in practice. Graduates are able to further develop, process and apply acquired knowledge and skills in the specialized areas that refer to the economy of a company, management, marketing, corporate finance and accounting and taxes. Their application will enable the growth of the performance and an utilitarian effect, i.e. mainly the value added by the company, or the effect in research activities. Graduates of this branch are able to pass their knowledge on to a wide spectrum of potential users, as doctoral thesis topics are focused on issues of management and economy in the field of company strategy and operation. The graduates are able to communicate about the knowledge, experience and methods that are applied during solving the issues of economy and management of a company at least in one foreign language. When processing the partial works and the final doctoral thesis, the usage of foreign literature and knowledge from internships abroad is required. Students also present the results of their research work at international conferences, etc.
Study Aims
The core study objective is to provide subject-purpose-aimed and project-related preparation for future graduates of this branch. This means they gain innovational adequate knowledge and skills regarding the scientific work system, knowledge in methodology and methods for formulation as well as verification of scientific research and knowledge hypotheses to address practical decision-making situations aimed to provide the efficiency growth first of all of the business entities, and value-added creation. Acquiring of such knowledge or skills is oriented in professional fields of business economy, management, marketing, business finance, and business law. The study of human resources is emphasised too. A final target application of acquired knowledge in the study aims to process an inventive doctor dissertation paper. In the course of the study, effort is made to provide knowledge and skill readiness of both domestic and foreign graduates, so that they are comparable to requirements imposed on them at relevant universities abroad.

Their application will allow the growth in the performance and purpose efficiency, i.e. firstly values added created by the business, or efficiency within research activities. Due to the knowledge and skills aimed at studying all partial functions of a complex managerial process including analytical activities, communication and decision-making systems, graduates are ready to purposefully integrate and provide implementation of synergic effects resulting in the growth in the organization's efficiency. Graduates can also act as managers at various management levels or as consultants, specialists etc., both in their country or abroad, with regard to a provided level of professional foreign language readiness of graduates
