Full time PhD Programs in Linguistics

Czestochowa is not only known for Pauline monastery of Jasna Góra but is also well recognized for its educational facilities. Częstochowa University of Technology, Jan Długosz University, Polonia University and Wyższa Szkoła Hotelarstwa i Turystyki are among the top ranked institutions of the country.

Linguistics is the science-based study of human language. Its students seek to understand the context, structure, and meaning of languages by comparing existing human languages and studying their similarities and differences. Areas of study include phonology, semantics, and syntax.

Like many other EU countries, Poland offers inexpensive or even free tuition to EU students. Prospective students should apply directly to their chosen Polish institution. The University of Warsaw, for example, charges between £1,300 and £2,500 per year for its English language courses.

Requirements for the PhD program often involve the student having already obtained a Master’s degree. Additionally, a thesis or dissertation primarily consisting of original academic research must be submitted. In some countries, this work may even need to be defended in front of a panel.
